The modern smart phone is one of the most important computers most people have, but yet it is one that only a select few have administrative access to (the pedaled reason being that most consumers are "not responsible enough" to have root, so everyone must be punished). This reasoning is flawed once you realize that Microsoft Windows (80% of the market share) gives every user root access right off the bat and Android is a highly insecure device either way. It only exists for vendor lock in and preventing you from removing spyware. I would love to root my phone but it is a carrier phone, sadly not working without a RCE or privilege acceleration bug. Something that has yet to be found.
